CONDITION RATINGS

  1. Mint: As new, appears perfect to the unaided eye.

  2. Almost perfect: one or two faint marks in a relatively unimportant location (like the base plate).

  3. Mint minus: a few surface rubs or “bright marks” or a single small scratch or edge nick. Still beautiful.

  4. Exc++: Similar to mint minus except that the marks may be in a more visible location (like the top plate). Black paint finish may have minimal edge brassing on sharp edges.

  5. Exc+: Shows signs of reasonably careful use such as rub marks, light strap marks. Clean user condition.

  6. Exc: Shows definite signs of use including a possible tap, ding, or shallow impress. Shows no sign of hard impact.

  7. Very good to very bad: Generally, “project” or “problem” items that I had to buy in a package in order to get the good stuff.
